The
Pilots of Mountain Air Helicopters are experienced professionals with
years in the helicopter industry. On average, pilots for our company have
logged over 7,000 hrs. in helicopters. Most of the flying that our company
performs is in the Utility market. This requires great skills and familiarity
in mountain flying, precision long line, and situational awareness. Mountain
Air pilots come to us with various backgrounds in firefighting, seismic
exploration, drill setting, charter, heli-skiing, and even corporate /
executive servicing.
Safety
of our passengers and ground personnel is our first priority. The pilots
of our company are the first defense in keeping our safety record clean.
All
company Pilots, regardless of their experience, complete initial and refresher
training annually in a FAA approved training program. This training covers
Federal Regulations, helicopter systems and components, flying skills,
long-line proficiency, emergency procedures, company procedures, and more.
They perform all flight emergency procedures on a regular basis to stay
on top of their skills. Pilots also undergo a thorough ground and flight
test administered by the FAA annually for competency and safety.
Our pilots also meet the
stringent skills required for the DOI-Aviation Management, and United
States Forest Service (USFS). We are carded and eager to perform.
